Sahara dust storm,
Nile delta, Egypt
PROBA-V , produced by VITO - © ESA-BELSPO 2018
PROBA-V caught a glimpse of Sahara dust crossing the Mediterranean, north of the Nile delta (red colour) in Egypt, the end of March. It is not unusual for Saharan dust to reach parts of Europe, but this storm caused a more surreal phenomenon in the last weeks of March, as skiers in eastern Europe were surprised to find snow in the same sepia tones.
